Penny, aka PP, a nickname she loves endearingly, is a senior from Princeton, Massachusetts. She is also the president of our group! She is an architectural studies major and psychology minor, and studies how architecture can adapt to people with different sensory processing abilities. Her hobbies include mining/crafting, building legos, sketching, and hanging out with her favorite acapella group, Vox!
Maddy is a junior from Sterling, MA and she is our vice president of Vox. She is a classics major with a concentration in classical studies and in the museum studies certificate program. She is never confined to one vocal part, singing tenor, alto, and beatboxes on occasion. Aside from Vox, Maddy loves acting/theater, Minecraft, coffee shops, and her doggie Milo.
Katie, aka Bad Pitch, is one of Vox’s pitches, she just happens to be a bad one. She is a senior from Chatham, New Jersey and is studying Psychology and Music as well as being Pre-Law on top of all that. She’s basically Vox’s personal Elle Woods! Katie is typically a soprano, but also sings mezzo and alto. She is skilled in opera and plays piano and violin. She’s a bit too talented (and overworked) for her own good.
Jo is a senior Theater and Education major from Texas. Jo is a powerful soprano and the soloist of the Vox’s fan-favorite song, ‘Creep’ by Radiohead. They are a member of N20 improv group, so you can always count on Jo to make you smile and laugh with something completely out-of-pocket. Jo WILL steal your phone and take .5’s of everyone they see, so make sure to hold onto it around them.
Charlotte, aka Char, is a senior studying art and psychology. She can usually be found in the alto and tenor sections. Her art does not disappoint and she brings a chaotic neutral energy to Vox that is always welcome. She can also read and write quite bit of Japanese, which is pretty freaking cool!
Abby is a junior studying Psychology and English and is also Vox’s resident Disney adult (eeek so embarrassing). When not singing and being silly with Vox she can be found sipping on a delectable iced coffee from Blamel, scrolling through Pinterest for four hours, or cozying up with a great book. (Follow her on Goodreads!) Also, she is secretly the best beatboxer in the history of collegiate acapella.
Dennis (AKA Denny) is the leader of the Fearless Jets and a bass in Vox. He is an Anthropology major with a concentration in Archaeology, as well as a biology minor. His hobbies include playing too many video games, hanging out with his friends and cats, and digging large holes in undisclosed locations on campus.
Caleb is a junior from Baltimore, Maryland. He is studying Classics and Theater and is a tenor through and through. He is a writer, and has acted, directed, and stage managed in both mainstage and student-run theater productions at Conn. If you need a book recommendation or want to get coffee and talk about classics, he’s the one to go to.
Bailey is problematic, but we love them anyway! They are a tenor (WHERE THE TENORS AT???) from Long Island, New York studying Theater and Art. They also might just have a double on campus but we’re still not sure… Bailey can typically be found in the costume shop in Palmer or in Cummings creating art. Fork found in kitchen, as they would say. They also are involved with Conn Coll rugby.
Charlotte is a sophomore and our co-social media manager from Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. She is double majoring in History and Education and minoring in American Studies. She is the president of Model UN and is involved in many campus activities including Choir, Ultimate Frisvee, Mock Trial, Wig and Candle, and Club Soccer. Charlotte somehow does all of these activities and still finds time to sleep and keep Vox entertained with her many sarcastic quips!
Gretchen is a sophomore and our beloved Acapella council rep. She is studying French, Film, and Art, and has a powerful voice in soprano and alto. She is a crab rangoon enthusiast and is always making little artsy trinkets for Vox. How she does all this and still manages to sleep and slay, we may never know.
Lilly is working very hard on this website, so please be kind to her PP and Katie. She is a sophomore from Ellicott City, Maryland, studying English and Government, and is one of Vox’s other social media managers. Her time is spent drinking too much coffee.
Rus is our resident diva and we’re so happy he’s joined us in Vox, even if it took a loooot of encouragement from Katie. Rus is from Baku, Azerbaijan and plans to double major in Theater and Neuroscience. Fun fact! He is a polyglot because Vox not only has perfect pitch but also has perfect translation.
Kaiden is a freshman from North Smithfield, Rhode Island and planning to study Chemistry. He is a welcome addition to Vox’s lower voices, and has been given the title ‘Magic Man’ from the super cool magic trick he showed us during his audition. Kaiden is also a first-degree black belt and is on the board for Conn’s Tennis club!
Savannah is a freshman from Kerrville, Texas (Vox actually has a monopoly on Texas). She plans to major in psychology and is typically found in the Alto and Tenor sections. Sav is a lover of vintage teen magazines and aesthetic photoshoots, and is also a member of Conn’s Ice Skating club.
